Is there a special place in your life that feels like home? Maybe it’s your house, or perhaps it’s your family vacation destination. For me, it’s my grandma’s living room. I would give anything to sit in her old house in that living room one more time.
Why is that particular place special to me? It wasn’t high-end or super fancy; the walls were yellowed from when my grandpa smoked in the house, and the decor was straight-up grandma style with doilies, hand-crocheted blankets, a hodgepodge of furniture, a piano, and a giant wooden television that probably weighed a ton.
This space is special because it wasn’t just a space… It was a feeling, a story, a whole trove of memories. From the anticipation of opening the first gift on Christmas Eve to playing duets on the old, out-of-tune piano with my grandma, to the joyful chorus of “Happy Birthday” over a 9×13 homemade sheet cake with “Happy Birthday” written in my grandma’s cursive.
So how does this relate to the resort? Just stick with me because it has everything to do with the resort, everything.
Our resort has been a fixture for families for over a century. Our cabins hold generations of stories, memories, and feelings. From the joyful giggles of a toddler as they reel in their first catch, to the excited squeal of the kids as they cannonball off the dock, to the tranquil peace of the evening by the bonfire as the loons echo over the lake.
These feelings are tangible, they are real, and they are sacred. It is the reflection of time well spent with the family in spaces that feel familiar and lived in. White Eagle isn’t just a physical space; it is a memory that we reflect upon when the days are long and the world feels like too much. It is a place within us that we escape to so we can feel.
We consider it an honor to curate spaces for you that hold treasured memories with loved ones.
